Job Description
UPSC has released the notification for Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2027 for recruitment to various engineering services and posts under the Government of India. Mechanical Engineering is one of the four disciplines available under the examination. Candidates holding a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another qualification accepted under the ESE rules are eligible to apply. The total number of vacancies across all four ESE disciplines is expected to be approximately 480, including PwBD vacancies, while the discipline-wise vacancy position may be subject to change. Recruitment is conducted through three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test/Interview. The Preliminary Examination will be held on 31 January 2027, followed by the Main Examination on 18 June 2027. The online application process commenced on 16 September 2026 and eligible candidates can apply through the UPSC online portal until 06 October 2026.
